How this was made

A 3D flyover by BeforeTheRun, built from public data with its own golf engine. It isn't made or endorsed by Emirates Golf Club; the emblem, card and visitor details are the club's own, from its website.

• Imagery. Esri World Imagery (Esri, Vantor), about 50 cm a pixel, taken on 23 November 2025 in the late morning. The film is lit as a winter afternoon running into a sunset behind the Marina, the light of Desert Classic week, so the photo's own shadows were lifted off the course and the trees, palms and buildings throw the film's.
• Elevation. Copernicus GLO-30, a 30 m satellite model. The course's broad rises are real; the slopes on a green are not shown, because a green fits inside one 30 m cell.
• Course. Every green, tee, fairway, bunker and lake and each hole's line of play from OpenStreetMap, including the 9th and 18th's double green. Shaping is cosmetic, not surveyed.
• Card. The club publishes no hole-by-hole card online: lengths come from scorecard sites that agree with each other and with the club's own hole guide, and the stroke index from that guide. The film plays the blue tees.
• Shots. Planned the way a good club golfer manages the course: each club's real spread, mishits, trees and palms in the way and the cost of sand and water, worked out over the whole hole.
• Trees, palms and desert. Found in the imagery (kinds and heights are a guess). Buildings and the skyline from Overture Maps; the clubhouse's tents are modelled from the photo. Narration voiced with ElevenLabs, music by Google Lyria, live wind from Open-Meteo.
• Visits. Counted anonymously (country, device, where you came from, how far you got): no cookies, no personal data.
